Case Study 1: ABInbev IT Infrastructure Upgrades
Overview: ABInbev, a global brewing company, engaged in two significant IT projects to modernize its data infrastructure and hardware assets across multiple regions. These projects aimed to enhance operational efficiency, communication, and technology standards.
Project 1: Multi-Country Data Centre Migration As part of a £26 million initiative, the first project involved managing a complex data center migration across eight countries, including in-country operations in Belgium, the UK, Russia, and the Netherlands. A crucial component was ensuring seamless communication in local languages, which facilitated smoother coordination and minimized disruptions. The project also included the migration of email accounts to Office 365, enabling ABInbev to standardize its communication tools across regions and improve productivity.
Project 2: Windows and Hardware Refresh The second project focused on refreshing over 1,000 devices across three key UK locations. The tasks involved building, deploying, and testing new hardware against an approved software standard to ensure compatibility and performance. Additionally, the team implemented a robust solution for software licensing and ownership, enhancing compliance and cost control. The decommissioning of old equipment and responsible disposal was managed efficiently to align with sustainability goals. Clear communication strategies were employed at the director, business, and end-user levels to ensure alignment. Financial management, application testing, and remediation support further secured the project's successful delivery.
Outcome: Both projects significantly improved ABInbev’s IT infrastructure, providing a scalable, secure, and cost-effective technology foundation. These initiatives have empowered ABInbev to operate with greater agility and maintain its competitive edge in a fast-evolving digital landscape.
At a time when we had considerably reduced our in-house capabilities, Bio brought a depth and breadth of skill we lacked, and contributed many valuable ideas and suggestions above and beyond expectations.

Case Study 2: Legal Sector ORganisation
The deployment of flexible resourcing models to underpin variable project workload.
Overview: Bio were engaged by an organisation in the legal sector with a view to providing project management capacity for 8 months to support the delivery of a number of key IT projects within a business change and cloud migration programme.
Project: The IT function had an individual with project management skills, but with very limited capacity this was constraining progress, potentially delaying the delivery of business critical platforms and systems. They were considering bringing in a contractor to support the “in-house” Project Manager, however having reviewed the portfolio of planned work with Bio, it quickly became apparent that the workload would peak and trough significantly during the year. In most months an additional fixed term contract resource would be under-utilised, incurring cost for “white space”, and yet without the additional resource, the in-house team would be unable to meet demand.
Bio recommended a “flex model”, whereby the capacity of project management delivered could increase or decrease to match demand, measured and recorded on 15 minute intervals. Bio would only charge for the hours consumed each day, delivering 100% utilisation compared to a ‘straight line’ day rate engagement of a contractor equivalent.
Outcome: Across the 8 month duration, Bio’s service cost was over 50% less in total compared to the alternative cost of a contractor for the same 8 month duration.
This initial engagement led to multiple further assignments, spanning IT projects, business change, and even managing the post acquisition integration of another organisation.
Case Study 3: Media Company - GB News
Evaluate ESM tools
Bio undertook the evaluation of tools, based on the size of their business and key delivery dates, which highlighted HALO as the best fit.
The MoSCoW and CMM process were selected to manage this.
Bio then worked with the client to ensure that standard working practice was implemented and understood for:
-Change
- Incident
- Major Incident
- SLM
- Asset Management.
All of the above were key to the client's operational go live and the above all linked into emails and agreed escalation points.
The successful project outcome was a result of the deployment of flexible resourcing models to underpin variable project workload.
